First off, if you need a prompter program to do single files, such as speeches, awards, etc, then there are several inexpensive programs reviewed on Macupdate that will suit your needs. Shadowscript is primarily an teleprompter software that utilizes multiple files to build a concert performance, with the ability to edit, and source, unlimited files to add to a show INSTANTLY. This is important when a performer decides to change up the show mid performance, and if notes need to be added when guest stars are added last minute so notes need to edited into existing scripts. I am proud to say that this software is currently being used by several Grammy winning artists and has used on several nationally televised live performances. As an operator, and not a programmer, I sought an existing program for my needs. When none existed, it took great efforts for find a programmer willing to custom design a software addressing live performance issues. I've used ShadowScript as my primary teleprompter software for over 50 live concerts in front of crowds of 20,000+ and would recommend this to anyone who needs a professional teleprompter solution. The program runs exceptionally well in action with no noticeable flaws, pauses, glitches or interruptions on my MacBookPro. On the fly changes are easy to do without the performer seeing the editors' window or setlist changes(huge plus). The only reason I didn't give it 5 starts is because it feels like it was designed for a PC in the sense that it doesn't give the user the sleek design of the Mac experience. Overall this program is great and is well worth it for its' price. It has never let me down and I would recommend this for anyone who needs a teleprompter.
